Planting Seeds for Growth
Franklin County's Economic Development Director takes development to another level

Louisburg, NC, July 12, 2006: Franklin County Economic Development Director Ronnie Goswick spends his time attracting business and industry to Franklin County. Now, his efforts will expand to a state-wide level following his appointment to serve as President of the North Carolina Economic Developers Association. Goswick has also been appointed by Governor Mike Easley to the North Carolina Economic Development Board.

The Franklin County native has led economic development in the area for the past eight years. Prior to his appointment as Director, he served as the economic development coordinator for Kerr-Tar Council of Governments, a five-county regional organization that serves Franklin, Granville, Person, Vance and Warren counties.

The NCEDA is the leading statewide association of professional economic developers and their allies in North Carolina. Its 575-plus members promote the state and their communities as places for new economic activity.

The Economic Development Board is responsible for creating and updating North Carolina's economic development strategic plan. The Board serves as the state's top economic development policy advisory body and is responsible for recommending economic development policy to the Governor.
